Younger Yuchnitz facing federal prison.

Like father, like son.

Justin Yuchnitz has pled guilty in federal court, this morning, to one count of mail theft.  He faces up to one year in prison when he's sentenced in Jaunuary.

Yuchnitz, 37, is the son of famed San Antonio business owner Mike Yuchnitz, who was known for being the pitchman in TV commercials for his My Econo's $39.95 Optical stores.  He was also arrested in 2010 for trying to hire a hitman to kill his wife.

The elder Yuchnitz collapsed and died in the parking lot of the In Town suites on Bandera Rd earlier this month before he could stand stand trial.

According to the criminal complaint, Justin Yuchnitz was busted last December for using a crowbar to break into the mailboxes at the Stratfiord Apartments on Medical dr.  A San Antonio police officer saw him sauntering away with a sack frill of mail.

"Yuchnitz was taken into custody and told officers he was stealing mail, looking for for gift cards for the holiday season," it reads.

Yuchnitzalso pled guilty to breaking into the mailboxes at the Hunters Glen Apartments on Datapoint, stealing checks and debit cards.

With a giant, red tattoo of the state of Texas next to his left eye, Yuchnitz said little during today's plea.

Natalie Proo, who is Yuchnitz's girlfriend, was also named in the federal investigation.  She's set to go before a federal judge next month.
