Tonight's Stars and Stripes Over San Antonio fireworks show, sponsored by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, has emerged as one of the best municipal fireworks shows in the country, and officials are planning for a large crowd and perfect Fourth of July weather, Newsradio 1200 WOAI news reports.

Neal Chaiott, who is the lead technician for the display, says he and his crew are spending about three days preparing for the show, but planning has taken months.

"We work for months ahead of time getting everything planned out," he told Newsradio 1200 WOAI. "Getting the shells in and getting the right shells for what we need to do."

In addition to the fireworks, an Independence Day naturalization service will take place, where twenty men and women who are serving in the U.S. military will take the oath and become U.S. citizens.

Music will be provided by the classic local band The Klocks, and there will be plenty of food trucks on hand.

When the twenty minute fireworks display begins, Chaiott says it will be choreographed to music on Q101.9, that can be heard on a radio, or on the iHeart Radio app.

"We can highlight the armed forces, we'll have the different colored shells to go along with the armed forces theme songs, so we can honor them," he said.

Chamber spokeswoman Becky Bridges says parking is available in Lots B and C, as well as parking for people with disabilities.  There is also a drop off point at the Lot A gate.

The show begins at 6, and expect the fireworks about 9:30.

USA Today recently named Stars and Stripes Over San Antonio the ninth best municipal fireworks show in the country, and the only show in Texas to make the top ten list.
