Cowboys lose, Texans win

Tony Romo completed 30 passes for 298 yards but had just one touchdown toss in a 176-16 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cowboys are now 1-1. The Chiefs have matched their victory total for all of last season.

Alex Smith passed for 223 yards and two touchdowns as the Chiefs beat Dallas 17-16 in Andy Reid's first home game as Kansas City's head coach. The Cowboys led 13-7 until Smith hit Dwyane Bowe for a 12-yard scoring strike with 2:53 left in the third quarter.

Smith also had 57 yards on eight carries and remains unbeaten after coming over from San Francisco.

Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles also caught a short TD pass and ran 16 times for 55 yards.

Houston pulled off its second straight comeback win. Matt Schaub threw a three-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins 4:28 into overtime as the Texans beat Tennessee 30-34.

The Texans led 16-10 until Delanie Walker scored on a 10-yard pass from Jake Locker with 6:37 left, less than two minutes before Alterraun Verner returned a Schaub interception 23 yards for a TD. Arian Foster forced overtime by scoring on a two-point conversion after running for a one-yard TD.

Schaub passed for 298 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

The 1-1 Titans managed just 248 yards despite Chris Johnson, who ran for 96.
